Craig D. Allen, CFA, CFP, CIMA, is a portfolio manager, financial planner, and senior business consultant.  He is the Founder and President of Montecito Private Asset Management, LLC, and is a Senior Business Consultant for Southcoast Management Group/SMG Business Plans.  He has been managing assets for foundations, corporations, and high-net worth individuals, providing financial planning services, conducting and writing research, and has been a  professional business writer for over twenty years.  Mr. Allen is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA charter holder); a Certified Financial Planner (CFP); and holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) certification. 


Mr. Allen holds a Master of Pacific International Affairs (MPIA) degree from the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies at the University of California San Diego (2003), with a Career Concentration in Comparative Policy Analysis, and a Regional Concentration in Latin America.  He also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Finance from Stephen F. Austin State University (1990).
 
Mr. Allen is the President of the Board of Directors and serves on the finance committee of Transition House, a Santa Barbara-based charitable organization focused on transitioning families in need from homelessness and financial distress, to stability and home-ownership.  He is also a member of the CFA Institute, a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA), a member of the CFA Society of San Diego, and a member of the Southern California Investment Managements Consultants Association.
 
Mr. Allen is a senior writer and business consultant, for MPAM and SMG Business Plans, drawing on his extensive experience in investment banking, financial accounting, financial and tax planning, and senior level management.  He creates documents used to secure funding through equity and debt sources, including business plans, executive summaries, slide presentations, and private placement memoranda (PPMs).  He also assists entrepreneurs in all facets of the funding process, through consulting services and introductions to funding sources, for both debt and equity financings.

Mr. Allen is the author of the book, “Short-Term Decisions equal Long-Term Disasters;” (iUniverse; 2003), presents financial markets update each weekday on radio KZSB - AM 1290 in Santa Barbara, and writes a weekly column in the business section of the Santa Barbara News Press: "Wall Street with Craig Allen."  Mr. Allen has been published and quoted in many other publications, including the Wall Street Journal, CSQ Magazine, and the Pacific Coast Business Times as well as many websites and blogs.  Mr. Allen is also a Professor of Finance for Axia College of the University of Phoenix and wrote an Internet blog at FinancialAdvisorMatch.com on economics and financial markets entitled, “Wall Street with Craig Allen.”
